Grievances over delays in printing CGHS Plastic Cards prompted action from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

Decentralization Announcement

  • Office order dated 26th March 2024.
  • Decentralization of CGHS Card Printing to every Additional Director (CGHS) in cities nationwide, including Delhi.
  • Aim: Expedite card-making process for timely healthcare service provision.

Implementation Timeline

  • Entire process, from enrolment to work order allocation for printing, to be completed by 25th April 2024.

Objective: Empower local CGHS authorities with printing responsibilities to streamline operations and enhance service delivery efficiency.

Fee for Duplicate Cards

  • Nominal fee of Rs. 100/- for issuing duplicate CGHS cards due to loss or other reasons.
  • Intention: Cover administrative costs while maintaining service accessibility for beneficiaries.

 

  • Specification Control:
    • CGHS Cards specifications determined by C&P Section at CGHS (HQ), CGHS Bhawan, New Delhi.
    • Ensures standardization and quality control.

 

Decision Approval:

    • Undertaken with the approval of the Additional Secretary & Director-General (CGHS).
    • Reflects commitment to improving healthcare access and administrative efficiency within the CGHS framework.

    • Office order disseminated to pertinent stakeholders:
      • PS to AS & DG MoHFW (CGHS)
      • PS to JS MoHFW (CGHS)
      • Additional Directors of CGHS Zones

 

  •  Objective:
    • Proactive measures aim to bolster CGHS operations.
    • Ensure seamless healthcare services for government employees and beneficiaries nationwide.
